Description

This script set allows you to do several things. You can setup a system to automatically mail all your friends or members a birthday card, or you can setup and run a Birthday Reminder service where surfers add their friends and family birthdays and the program sends them a reminder letter on the day of the birthday.

Installation

 There are several ways this can be setup.

#1. As a simple greeting card mailer for your own customers on their birthday.
#2. A service for where people can remind themselves of friends and family birthdays.

Depending on which way you prefer to use this script, installation varies.

To install this just to send cards to your customers:
======================================================

1. Open Configs.pm in a text editor and modify the variables as needed to suit you.
2. Upload reminder.pl, Configs.pm, and admin.cgi to your cgi-bin and chmod them to 755
3. Edit text_card (and html_card if you are using html emails). These are in the templates folder in this archive.
4. Upload the templates directory to your cgi-bin

To install this as a service:

To use this just to send cards to your customers:

Simply point your browser to admin.cgi and add all of your users to it.
You can also remove users from the database as needed from here.

To use this as a reminder service:
======================================================

Point visitors to the signup.cgi to add their friends and family birthdates to the database.
You can add/remove users manually by pointing your browser to admin.cgi
