Easily track how many clicks certain links on your page get with this simple and fast script.

Installation
Path to Perl
#!/usr/bin/perl
- The script uses the most common path to Perl however if the script doesn’t run for you, you may have to change the first line of each cgi and pm file.
Configuration
- The out.cgi file contains several variables that will need editing before the script will run on your server.
- $file="/home/user/outclicksdata";
Preferably in a non-public area of your server, this directory will contain your data.
- $errorsend="http://www.sponsor.com/";
This is the URL to which you’d like to send surfers that try to hit the out.cgi script directly without a query string.
- The stats.cgi file contains several variables that will need editing before the script will run on your server.
- $file="/home/user/outclicksdata";
Preferably in a non-public area of your server, this directory will contain your data.
Uploading
Create a directory for the script on your server, which must have CGI access.
Upload all files in ASCII mode.
CHMOD .CGI files to 755.
CHMOD your data directory specified in $file to 777.
Running
To use the script, simply insert its URL in front of the URL you’d like to link to.
Example:
HREF="
http://www.trade.com/"
Becomes
HREF="/out.cgi?http://www.trade.com/"
To view how many hits each link has been sent, open stats.cgi in your web-browser.
