Terms of use

What is provided, and on what basis.

Short, because the site sells nothing, holds no accounts and processes no payments.

Scope

These terms govern use of perlcoders.com. There is no account, no subscription, no purchase and no payment processing anywhere on this site. If that changes, these terms change first.

Editorial content

Articles, comparisons, Timeline entries and Archive records are published for information. They carry a reviewed date and, where a claim is unverified, a visible marker saying so. We correct errors — see the corrections policy — but we do not warrant that any page is current, complete or fit for a particular purpose.

Nothing here is professional advice. Code examples are written to be read. The codeTested flag on each article states whether an automated harness has run them; across this build it is false. Running any example against a production system is your decision and your responsibility.

Labs tools

The tools are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. In particular:

  • A status of unambiguous from the Legacy URL Mapper means a group collapsed cleanly under the stated method. It is not a statement that the redirect target is correct.
  • No tool fetches status codes or verifies that any destination exists.
  • Every export carries a MANUAL REVIEW REQUIRED decision column for exactly this reason.

Redirect decisions taken on the basis of a tool's output remain yours. We accept no liability for traffic, ranking or revenue consequences of those decisions.

The Archive

Archive entries describe discontinued software that this publication neither owns, supports nor distributes. No source code, binary, screenshot or manual is redistributed. Nothing in the Archive is available for download, and no entry should be read as a recommendation to run historical code. Where a purpose is reconstructed rather than documented, the entry says so explicitly.

Contributions

By submitting a question, correction or artifact you confirm that you have the right to submit it, and you grant us a non-exclusive right to publish it on this site with attribution — unless you ask us not to be credited, which we honour.

For artifacts, rights information is a hard requirement. Material submitted without a rights holder and a rights status is recorded as a reference and not displayed. Do not submit material you do not have the right to share.

Acceptable use

The code of conduct applies to every channel we operate. Beyond that: do not attempt to disrupt the service, do not scrape it in a way that degrades it for others, and do not misrepresent this publication as the former PerlCoders company or as an official Perl organisation.

Liability

Liability for damages arising from use of this site is limited to intent and gross negligence, except where liability is mandatory by law — in particular for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. Statutory liability for slight negligence in breach of a material contractual obligation remains unaffected and is limited to foreseeable, typical damage.

Governing law

German law applies where legally permissible. Mandatory consumer-protection rules remain unaffected; no exclusive venue is agreed for consumers.
